Which GTX Coil Resistance Should You Choose?

Sub-ohm: 0.2Ω and 0.3Ω

These are for big clouds on a high-power device such as the Target PM80. They draw a lot of power and e-liquid, so use them only with low-nicotine freebase e-liquid at around 3mg. Salt nicotine at these wattages delivers far too much nicotine per puff.

Middle: 0.6Ω and 0.8Ω

The most versatile options. 0.6Ω gives a looser, warmer draw with good flavour; 0.8Ω is the all-rounder that suits most pod mods and works with both salts and freebase.

MTL: 1.2Ω mesh and regular

For a tight, cigarette-like draw at low power, best with nicotine salt. The mesh version tends to give fuller flavour; the regular coil gives a classic, slightly sharper MTL hit.

Which Devices Do GTX Coils Fit?

GTX coils are Vaporesso’s most widely used coil platform. They fit the Target PM80 and Target PM80 SE, and many other Vaporesso kits and pods, including the GTX GO 40 and GTX GO 80, Swag PX80, Xiron, Gen Nano, the Luxe X and Luxe XR pods, and the Armour G series pods. Important: some lower-power devices only accept GTX coils of 0.6Ω or higher. That includes the Luxe PM40, Target PM30 and the original GTX One. Do not fit a 0.2Ω or 0.3Ω coil in those. How Long Does a GTX Coil Last?

Coil life depends on how much you vape, the wattage and the e-liquid. Sweet dessert and candy e-liquids clog coils faster; tobacco and menthol are gentler. Low-resistance coils run hotter and usually wear out sooner than 0.8Ω or 1.2Ω coils. Replace the coil when:

• the flavour turns muted or burnt even after a refill;
• vapour becomes thinner at the same wattage;
• the pod or tank starts to gurgle or leak.

With five coils per pack, most daily vapers have several weeks of coils.

How to Fit and Prime a GTX Coil

1. Pull the old coil straight out of the pod or tank base.
2. Drip a few drops of e-liquid onto the cotton visible through the coil’s side holes and into the top.
3. Push the new coil in firmly until it seats.
4. Fill the pod or tank with e-liquid.
5. Wait about five minutes so the cotton fully soaks.
6. Start at the low end of the coil’s wattage range and raise it slowly.

A burnt taste on the first puff usually means the cotton was not fully soaked, and it cannot be undone.

Best E-Liquid for GTX Coils

Match the e-liquid to the coil. Use nicotine salt with the 1.2Ω and 0.8Ω coils, and low-strength freebase (around 3mg) with the 0.2Ω and 0.3Ω sub-ohm coils. Browse our UAE e-liquids.

Are GTX and GTi coils the same?
