The FreeMax MX coils are high-power, plug-in mesh replacement coils for FreeMax’s MX-platform devices, including the Maxus series from 2021 onwards. They come in a pack of 3 with four options: 0.12Ω MX1 SS316L, 0.15Ω MX1, 0.15Ω MX3 and 0.2Ω MX2, rated from 40W to 110W. They cost AED 60 per pack at Vapor AE, with delivery to all seven emirates.

FreeMax MX Coils — Specifications

FreeMax’s official MX Mesh Coil page describes the design and compatibility but gives no resistances or wattages, so those figures come from retailer listings that agree with each other. FreeMax’s page mentions both its CoilTech 4.0 (tea fibre cotton and mesh) and a newer CoilTech 5.0 Double-D mesh; the version depends on the batch, so we do not name one.

MX1 vs MX2 vs MX3: Which FreeMax MX Coil Should You Choose?

FreeMax describes the MX coil as the plug-in version of its M Pro mesh coils. All four options are sub-ohm, direct-lung coils for cloud vaping; the choice comes down to how much power you want to use.

0.12Ω MX1 SS316L and 0.15Ω MX1

The 0.12Ω MX1 SS316L (40–80W) uses SS316L stainless steel mesh; it can run in normal wattage mode, and because SS316L suits temperature control it can also be used in a TC mode if your device supports it (retailers list 400–550°F). The standard 0.15Ω MX1 (50–80W) is a good all-round choice, giving dense vapour at around 70W without the battery drain of the MX3.

0.2Ω MX2 and 0.15Ω MX3

The 0.2Ω MX2 (60–90W) is a step up in power, with retailers quoting a sweet spot of about 80W. The 0.15Ω MX3 (80–110W) is the highest-power option in this pack, best at about 100W — it needs a strong device and uses e-liquid quickly.

Which Devices Do FreeMax MX Coils Fit?

FreeMax says the MX platform applies to its Maxus series products launched in 2021 and later. The coils do not fit FreeMax pod kits or other FreeMax tanks that use different coils — the coil code printed on your old coil tells you which one you need. How Long Does an MX Coil Last, and How Do You Fit One?

Coil Lifespan

High-power coils wear faster than low-power pod coils, because they move much more e-liquid through the cotton. Sweet e-liquids caramelise on the mesh faster; tobacco and menthol flavours are usually gentler. Running a coil at the top of its range also shortens its life. Replace the coil when the flavour turns muted or burnt even after a refill, the vapour becomes thinner at the same wattage, or the tank starts to gurgle or spit.

How to Fit and Prime It

1. Empty the tank or pod and remove it from the device.
2. Pull the old MX coil straight out and push the new one firmly into place.
3. Drip a few drops of e-liquid onto the cotton through the coil’s wicking holes.
4. Reassemble, fill with e-liquid and wait about five minutes so the cotton soaks.
5. Set the power at the low end of the coil’s range, for example 50W for the MX1 0.15Ω, and raise it slowly towards the recommended setting.

Never fire a dry coil. At these power levels, a dry coil burns in a single puff.

Best E-Liquid for MX Coils and UAE Rules

MX coils are sub-ohm, direct-lung coils. Use a low-strength freebase e-liquid with a higher VG ratio, which vaporises cleanly at high power; nicotine salts are not suitable at 40–110W.
