What is the VMATE MAX?

The VMATE MAX is a compact zinc alloy pod kit in VOOPOO’s VMATE range. Its main talking point is the “Hidden Horizon” display: the screen sits beneath the IML front panel and stays invisible until it lights up, so the device looks clean when idle. The GENE.AI 2.0 chip sets the power between 5W and 30W, and the stepless airflow slider on the back moves the draw from mouth-to-lung to restricted direct-lung.

The kit is sold as empty hardware: no e-liquid or nicotine is included.

VMATE MAX Cartridges

The MAX uses 3ml VMATE Top Fill cartridges. Two come in the box:

• 0.7Ω: a mouth-to-lung draw that suits nicotine salts.
• 0.4Ω: a looser RDL draw at higher wattage, for lower-strength freebase.

VOOPOO rates coil life at up to 90ml of e-liquid and says the cartridge is leak-free for 30 days; both are the maker’s claims. For spares, see our VOOPOO VMATE pod cartridges and check the resistance on that page.

Battery and Charging

The 1200mAh battery charges over USB Type-C at 5V/2A, and VOOPOO says a full charge takes about 35 minutes. It is smaller than the 1500mAh battery in the VMATE E2, i2 and i3, so heavy vapers will charge more often. Do not leave the kit charging in a hot car or in direct sun.

UAE Rules for Pod Kits and E-Liquid

The VMATE MAX is sold empty, so it contains no nicotine. The rules apply to the e-liquid you fill it with. Electronic nicotine products in the UAE must meet UAE.S 5030:2018, which caps e-liquid nicotine at 20mg/mL (2%). From 1 September 2026, a minimum excise price of AED 1 per mL of e-liquid also applies. Sale is restricted to adults 21 and over. See our guide to vaping laws in Dubai and the UAE.

VMATE MAX vs Other VMATE Kits

The MAX and E2 cost the same. The E2 has a bigger battery and a leather panel; the MAX is lighter, charges a little faster and has the hidden display. The VMATE i3 is the lightest option.

How to Use the VMATE MAX

1. Charge the kit over USB Type-C before first use.
2. Remove a cartridge and fill it from the top, leaving a little space.
3. Refit the cartridge and wait about five minutes so the coil soaks.
4. Set the airflow slider on the back: closed for MTL, open for RDL.
5. Take a gentle first puff and adjust the airflow to taste.

Troubleshooting

• Burnt taste on a new cartridge: the coil was not fully soaked. Wait longer after filling.
• No vapour: charge the battery and reseat the cartridge.
• Leaking: do not overfill, and keep the kit upright when stored.
• Flavour fading: replace the cartridge.

Who the VMATE MAX Suits

It suits vapers who want a small, solid metal pod kit with a clean look, fast charging and both MTL and RDL cartridges in the box. If battery life matters most, the VMATE E2’s 1500mAh battery is the better pick at the same price.
