Which GTX Coil Should You Choose?

0.8Ω: mouth-to-lung

At 12–20W, the 0.8Ω coil gives a tighter, cigarette-like draw and works with nicotine salts at modest strengths. It is the natural choice for low-power devices such as the GTX One Pro.

0.4Ω and 0.6Ω: restricted direct-lung

At 20–32W, these give a looser, warmer draw with more vapour. Use a lower nicotine strength with them.

0.2Ω and 0.3Ω: direct-lung

At 32–60W, these are for big clouds on higher-power devices. Use low-nicotine freebase e-liquid, typically 3mg or 6mg. Check your device’s maximum wattage before choosing these; a 40W device cannot run the 0.2Ω coil properly.

Which Devices Do GTX Coils Fit?

How Long Does a GTX Coil Last?

Coil life depends on how much you vape, the power you use and your e-liquid. Sweet dessert and candy e-liquids caramelise on the coil faster; tobacco and menthol flavours are usually gentler. Replace the coil when:

• the flavour turns muted or burnt;
• the vapour gets thinner at the same wattage;
• the tank or pod starts to gurgle or leak.

With five coils per pack, most daily vapers have enough for several weeks.

How to Fit and Prime a GTX Coil

1. Empty the tank or pod and pull out the old coil.
2. Drip a few drops of e-liquid onto the exposed cotton of the new coil.
3. Press the new coil firmly into place.
4. Fill with e-liquid and wait about five minutes so the cotton soaks fully.
5. Start at the low end of the coil’s power range and raise it slowly.

Skipping the soak is the most common cause of a burnt first puff, and the damage cannot be undone.
